Well, camping season has ended, but we did get in one more campout. We camped in the Swanson Road Area to do some quadding and trail mapping. In October we went to Abbotsford for 10 days. Not quadding, not camping, just visiting. I was somewhat bored but they did take me to the park everyday to play ball and I met some other dogs there, which I got along ok with.

Club ride

Yesterday we went on a ride with their ATV club to Box Canyon up by Cadomin. There was a professional photographer along the ride to take pictures for Alberta Tourism. The Photographer really liked me and took lots of pictures of me so maybe some day my mugshot will be in some tourism article or magazine. It was a great trip. I ran pretty much the whole part that wasn't on the road, approximately 28 kms. It was fairly slow going, and we stopped a lot because of all the picture taking, so I kept up with the quads pretty well. When we got back they had a deep fried turkey potluck dinner and there was lots of turkey left over so I got a plateful. In the picture I don't look happy, but that's only because they were laughing at my muddy face. It was a good day.

The next day was drizzly, but we quadded some great trails, and saw lots of cows because the trails are all through huge grazing leases. There's lots of those cattle guard things in the roads too, and I found out the hard way (with a faceplant) not to try to run over them. This is me at the lookout at the top of Greenstone Mountain. Over my shoulder you can see Kamploops in the distance.
more Logan Lake

The first day it was soooo hot, I got to run all I wanted and more. By the third day I had a hole worn through the first layer one of my paw pads so She wouldn't let me run much at all after that. But there's lakes all over the place in those mountains, and we stopped to cool off at some of them. I don't remember which one this was, but we went to: Kamloops, Leighton, Face, Paska, Tunkwa, Dominique, Duffy, Hughes, Dairy and East Dairy Lakes.

Greg River
Last weekend we loaded up the quads and camped at Greg River near Hinton. The first day it was terribly smoky from the forest fires in BC, so She wouldn't let me run very much and the ball playing at night was mostly just me finding the ball in the tall grass and brush. But that night it rained really hard and cleared up the air quite a bit, so I got to run lots the next day. We came across an old cabin with a footbridge that crosses a stream to get to it.
